Do you have food guilt? Chef Jacques Pepin has something to say about that.
Do You Feel Guilty When You Eat?
No way. Not me. I’m with Chef. I eat what I want to eat when I want to eat it. Eating is all about nourishing my body and feeling satisfied. I gave up food guilt a long time ago. I hope you did, too. If not, there’s no time like the present.
I focus my eating on what makes me feel good and keeps my hunger under control. That’s because I have found that if I eat lots of “empty carbs,” like sugary treats or bread, I feel unsatiated. These “foods” make me want to keep eating more, more, more. I don’t like that craving feeling—physically or emotionally. I don’t diet. And I don’t deny myself an occasional chocolate. I simply eat most of my calories as whole, full-of-fiber foods and healthy fats. Don’t let your food guilt get the best of you. Nourish your body and soul.
It Ain’t Just The Diet
I admit, I used to be overweight. I tried diet after diet, but they simply didn’t work for me. Then I discovered I was eating foods my body couldn’t tolerate. I can tell you it ain’t just the diet that made me hold onto all those extra pounds. I couldn’t keep weight off for love nor money. When I stopped eating the foods that caused my food sensitivities and seasonal allergies, I lost more than 40 pounds. The weight just slipped off and stayed off.
I tell you my story, explain exactly how to test yourself for food allergies, sensitivities and intolerances, and give you the tools to do it in my new book, It Ain’t Just the Diet™ Food Journal | A Daily Guide to Finding & Managing Your Food Allergies, available April 27 on Amazon.
