sweet yellow or red

Dash of freshly ground pepper

white vinegar, or use apple cider vinegar

Instructions
Slice the cucumbers (in rounds) and onions thinly and place them in a shallow serving dish.
In a small bowl or measuring cup, mix the other ingredients until the salt and sugar are dissolved.
Pour the vinegar mixture over the cucumber and onion slices.
Serve immediately, or chill.
