This Sweet Baked Acorn Squash recipe is a simple and delicious way to enjoy the nutty and slightly sweet flavor of acorn squash, with a drizzle of honey and a sprinkle of cinnamon that perfectly complement its tender and creamy flesh.
Cut the squash in half lengthwise and scoop out the seeds and stringy stuff in the center.
Cut each half of the squash in half (so now you have 4 pieces).
Place the squash on a baking pan with the flesh (inside) side up.
Add about ¼ cup of water to the bottom of the pan.
Put one tablespoon of butter and 1 tablespoon of brown sugar in the center of each piece of squash. If you are using honey instead of brown sugar, divide it evenly among the squash pieces.
Bake in a 350F degree oven for about 45 minutes or an hour until the squash is tender.
