Peanut Butter Oatmeal Protein Balls For Energy

    by Kathy Owen

Share on Facebook Share on Reddit Share on Pinterest

These Peanut Butter Oatmeal Balls use honey for sweetness and to hold the mixture together, peanut butter for protein, chia seeds for texture and shape, and semi-sweet chocolate chips to balance the peanut butter's nutty flavor (and because we all need a daily dose of chocolate).

These Peanut Butter Oatmeal Balls are a quick, no-bake snack made with wholesome oats, creamy peanut butter, and a touch of sweetness. Perfect for meal prep, breakfast on the go, or an energy-boosting snack, they're easy to make and loved by both kids and adults.

The peanut butter oatmeal balls have a nice mix of carbs, protein, and healthy fats to keep you going. The honey gives you a quick energy boost, while the oats digest more slowly for longer-lasting fuel.

Peanut butter and chia seeds add protein and healthy fats, which help keep you full and satisfied. Put it all together, and you have a handy little snack that gives you more staying power than grabbing something sugary when that afternoon slump hits.

A Few Tips For Making The Oatmeal Balls

    • Line a plate with parchment paper, as the balls will be easier to release once frozen.
    • Peanut Butter: I used smooth peanut butter; you can use crunchy, too. You can also use natural peanut butter, as this is a no-bake recipe.
    • I warm the peanut butter and honey together for just a few seconds; no need to heat them for long. This quick warming softens them, making all the ingredients much easier to mix smoothly.
    • Have fun with the recipe: Add some chopped nuts like walnuts, pecans, or peanuts.
    • Use a different nut butter
    • The mixture will be sticky. If it feels dry, add 1-2 tablespoons of honey. However, if it feels too sticky, add 1-2 tablespoons of oats.
    • When shaping the balls, if it feels too sticky, wet your hands with water. Roll the dough in your palm, and apply slight pressure as you roll it into a ball.
    • Store the balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator or freezer until you are ready to use them. They will store 1-2 weeks in the refrigerator and up to 3 months in the freezer.
