    Heaven On Earth Cake

    Heaven on earth cake is the kind of no-bake dessert that tastes just as dreamy as it sounds.

    Fluffy angel food cake is layered with creamy vanilla pudding, sweet-tart cherry pie filling, and whipped topping for a light, luscious treat that’s perfect for spring gatherings, potlucks, or Sunday dinner.

    It’s incredibly easy to make, beautifully layered, and always the first dessert to disappear!

    Ingredients 

    You will need the following ingredients listed below to make this simple dessert recipe (the exact measurements, nutrition information and full recipe are all in the printable recipe card at the bottom of the post).

    • Instant Vanilla Pudding Mix 
    • Whole milk 
    • Sour Cream or plain greek yogurt 
    • Angel Food Cake
    • Cherry Pie Filling 
    • Cool Whip 
    • Sliced Almonds

    How to Make Heaven on Earth Cake

    In a large bowl, whisk together the pudding mix, milk, and sour cream until smooth. Set aside.

    Spread half of the angel food cake pieces into an even layer in a 9x13 baking dish. 

    Top it with ⅔ of the cherry pie filling and spread it out evenly over the cake. Then top with the remaining cake pieces.

    Pour the vanilla pudding mixture on top and spread into an even layer. 

    Add an even layer of Cool Whip on top and drop spoonfuls of the remaining cherry pie filling.

    You can make swirls using a butter knife or skewer if you like.

    Refrigerate the cake for 4 hours, or overnight. Add sliced almonds on top before serving.

    Tips 

    Try making different flavors by using different canned pie fillings, different pudding mix flavors, or different nuts for topping. 

    If you have the time and ingredients, you can make your angel food cake and whipped topping yourself. 

    This same recipe can be used to make trifles or individual dessert cups.
