Hi, it's Lois at Recipe Idea Shop, sharing my favorite chocolate frosting recipe. If you're going to eat frosting, my philosophy is you should eat The Best Chocolate Frosting, especially on My Favorite Chocolate Cake. This recipe is super easy and oh! So full of chocolate. Only 6 ingredients. Trust me, you gonna love it.
It will frost a dozen cupcakes or two 9-inch cakes. And it takes just a few minutes. Your friends and family will love you for it.
What You Need
You need measuring cups and spoons (affiliate link), a mixing bowl (affiliate link) and to make it super fluffy, you will need a good hand mixer (affiliate link).
The Best Chocolate Frosting Recipe

Chocolate Frosting
Ingredients
- 1 cup sifted powdered sugar
- 1 egg
- ¼ cup milk
- ½ teaspoon vanilla
- 4 squares unsweetened baker’s chocolate melted & cooled
- 1 tablespoon soft butter
Instructions
- Combine ingredients in order given, beating with rotary beater until blended.
- Place bowl in pan of cracked ice or ice water and continue beating until it is the right consistency to spread (about 3 minutes).
