You will need the following ingredients listed below to make this popular dip recipe (the exact measurements, nutrition information and full recipe are all in the printable recipe card at the bottom of the post).
Ingredients:
- Sour Cream: this should not be omitted, it helps make the mixture smooth and creamy.
- Cream Cheese: use full fat cream cheese and that it is softened before using, to help prevent lumps in the mixture.
- Garlic Powder
- Onion Powder
- Salt
- Black Pepper
- Whole Dill Pickles: baby whole dill pickles are the only type of pickles tested in this recipe. Other pickles may work, simply use the same amount of diced cups of pickles as suggested in the recipe. The pickles used in this recipe were not fermented pickles, they were bought shelf-stable.
- Fresh Dill: fresh dill works best, if you only have dry, use 1 ½ teaspoons, not tablespoons.
- Pickle Juice: use the pickle juice from the jar of pickles used in the recipe.

How to Make Dill Pickle Dip:
- Start by dicing up the dill pickles, if they aren’t already diced, then set aside.
- Add the sour cream, cream cheese, and spices to a large bowl and beat until smooth, with your hand mixer. The spices, and amounts, can be adjusted to taste.

- Then stir in the rest of the ingredients, the diced pickles, fresh dill, and pickle juice from the pickle jar.
- Place into your serving dish and garnish as desired, with extra dill and diced or sliced pickles.

- Enjoy with potato chips, or your favorite dippers!

- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 4-5 days. Stir before enjoying again.
Tips:
- Be sure to FINELY chop the pickles, the smaller, the better!
- The only chunks or lumps in this dip should be the pickles. Do not add the pickles until the cream cheese mixture is completely smooth. This may take a few minutes of mixing with the hand mixer on high.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 4-5 days. Stir before enjoying again.
Of course! You should be able to use any type of pickle, just be sure to dice into tiny pieces and only use 1 ½ cups.
Feel free to use any dippers, such as potato dips, tortilla chips, raw vegetables like carrots, cucumber, bell peppers, etc. You can even dip pickles in your pickle dip!
