FAQs about Avocados
You might find this funny because an avocado is a fruit. It is a berry! When I think of berries I don't think of anything as large as an avocado.
Yes! Avocados contain protein, healthy fats, and are a good source of fiber. They also contain folate, potassium, and Vitamin E.
Avocados are heart healthy because they can help lower blood pressure. Since they are a good source of fiber they also aid in digestion.
Ripe avocados are dark green or nearly ripe. Remove the stub from the avocado with your thumb nail and a ripe avocado will have a light greenish color underneath. When slightly squeezed with your palm a ripe avocado will have a slightly soft feel.
Store avocados with other fruits or to ripen fast place avocados in a brown bag with a banana or apple.
