    • 1 9x13 inch Baking Pan
    • Mixing Bowls 
    • Hand Mixer 

    Hawaiian Cake Ingredients

    • 2 c. flour 
    • 1 ¾ c. sugar 
    • 2 tsp. baking soda 
    • 2 eggs 
    • 1 20 oz. can crushed pineapple, in its own juice (do not drain juice) 
    • 1 c. sweetened coconut flakes 
    • 1 c. chopped walnuts 

    Cream Cheese Frosting 

    • 1 8 oz. pkg cream cheese, softened 
    • 1 stick of butter, softened 
    • 2 to 3 cups of powdered sugar (depends on how sweet you like the frosting)
    • 2 tsp. vanilla extract 
    • A pinch of salt 

    HOW TO MAKE HAWAIIAN CAKE 

    1. Preheat oven to 350°. Grease a 9 x 13 baking pan.

    1. Mix all cake ingredients in a large mixing bowl by hand until well combined.

    1. Pour cake batter into greased 9 x 13 baking pan.

    1. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center of the cake comes out clean. 
    1. Cool completely on a wire rack. 
    1. Beat cream cheese in a medium bowl with an electric mixer until creamy. 
    1. Add butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and salt to the cream cheese; beat with an electric mixer until well combined.

    1. Frost cake and serve immediately or store covered in the refrigerator until serving.

    Note: This cake is best on the second day and keeps well for several days.
