Recipe Idea: Fresh from the Vegetarian Slow Cooker Cookbook Review
Hi. It's Lois in the kitchen at Recipe Idea Shop, talking about one of my favorite cookbooks, Fresh from the Vegetarian Slow Cooker by Robin Robertson. I love, love LOVE this cookbook, and I use it all the time.
Robertson has quickly become one of my favorite cookbooks. I tried many of the recipes in it, and they are always winners. One of the things I learned from this cookbook is that if you sauté the onions and carrots (and sometimes other vegetables) before you add them to the crockpot, it changes the flavor of the dish entirely.
You can see from the photo above that I have many recipes marked. Try the Irish Stew, Mediterranean Vegetable Stew, or Green Tomato Chutney. They are all terrific. Both the Mediterranean Vegetable Stew and Green Tomato Chutney have become "old standbys" at my house. I make the chutney and give it away to family and friends for Christmas, to rave reviews. The Mediterranean Stew is a splendid addition to any potluck supper and a recipe that everyone seems to like.
If you need a potluck dish, or a simple supper waiting for you at home after work, get yourself a copy of Fresh from the Vegetarian Slow Cooker!
