What Wonders Await You Today?

Have you kept your child-like wonder? Life is full of fascinating things to ponder, especially in nature. Walking, hiking, sitting by a lake, or meandering along a country road can restore my soul.

I hear a bird and I wonder how far it flew when it migrated. I think about how the wind feels on my skin and marvel at the abundance of colors surrounding me. Nature has a way of prompting questions, doesn't it?

Like A Child

Just think of the five-year-old, bouncing into a field of clover. She will ask, "If cows eat clover, can I eat it too?" Or maybe she will simply grab some and try to eat it. (It's fine. It won't hurt her.)

She will marvel at the butterflies and colors of the field. She will exclaim and laugh about each and every discovery. Children have an amazing way of looking at life, don't they? The physical world astounds them sometimes.

Nature Binds Our Souls

Nature helps me remember the child within, while also allowing me to connect with the world. But I don't have to be in a forest to be filled with amazement.

A bustling city, with all its smells and noises, can bring a sense of awe, too. How do people sleep in all that noise? How do they choose what to eat when there are so many wonderfully smelling choices? How did people ever figure out that yucca root could be eaten?

We Are All Connected

People amaze me every day. I see young mothers working from sun-up to well past dark to take care of their families. I did it, too. It's tough when you are going through it, but you do get through it. (And you can ask for help!) Remember, you aren't in this world alone.

I know we are all intertwined. Each and every one of us in the world is connected through our hearts, minds, and energy. What I do affects everyone else. I try to be responsible and helpful. I wonder what I can do to help the hungry or create a happy world. I pray that I will always keep my sense of child-like wonder and look at the world with happy eyes.

Perhaps my curiosity and sense of awe will help me discover creative solutions to hard problems. Or maybe it will only help one person live a happier life. One is enough. Two is better. I do what I can. And so do you.

What do you wonder about? What wonders await you today?
