Ingredients for Chocolate Dipped Waffle Pops

You will need the following ingredients listed below to make this breakfast recipe (the exact measurements, nutrition information and full recipe are all in the printable recipe card at the bottom of the post).

    For the Waffle Batter:

    • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
    • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
    • 1 tablespoon baking powder
    • ½ teaspoon salt
    • 1 large egg
    • 1 cup milk
    • ⅓ cup vegetable oil
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    ingredients for waffle batter

    For the Glaze:

    • 1 cup powdered sugar
    • 2 tablespoons milk (more if needed)
    • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
    • Pink food coloring (for decoration)

    For the Chocolate Dip:

    • 1 cup chocolate chips
    ingredients for chocolate dip

    Other:

    • Lollipop sticks or stiff skewers
    • Sprinkles (optional)

    Instructions:

Step 1. Prepare the Waffle Batter

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt.

In another bowl, combine the egg, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract.

    mixing dry and wet ingredients

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.

Divide the batter into separate bowls based on the number of colors you want to make. Add a few drops of food coloring to each bowl and mix until the desired color is achieved.

    Step 2. Cook the Waffles

Preheat your waffle maker according to its instructions.

Lightly grease the waffle maker if necessary.

For each waffle, pour a small amount of batter onto the hot waffle maker.

Close the waffle maker and cook until golden brown (about 3-5 minutes, depending on your maker). Insert a stick while the batter is not fully cooked to ensure it is solid.

    Step 3. Make the Glaze

In a bowl, mix together the powdered sugar and milk. Adjust the milk for your desired consistency.

Divide the glaze into two small bowls. Add pink food coloring to one, and leave the other one plain.

Step 4. Prepare the Chocolate Dip

In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips.

Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until you have a smooth mixture.

    Step 5. Assemble the Waffles

Dip the top of each waffle lollipop into the chocolate dip, allowing any excess to drip off.

Immediately drizzle or dip in the colored glaze, and top with sprinkles if desired. Use a spoon to drizzle pink and white glaze onto the waffles, have fun and create different designs!
