Don's Famous Favorite Pecan Pie
Don here, with Don's Famous Favorite Pecan Pie. This really is our Favorite Pecan Pie. It's a traditional holiday dessert in many families (including ours), especially in Southern U.S.
I'm the pie maker in our family. Thanksgiving is right around the corner and I'm thinking about what pies I will make this year. Lois's favorite is definitely Pecan Pie, with my Gluten Free Shortbread Pie Crust. So I will make this one for sure, along with one Crumbly Top Apple Pie and at least two Pumpkin Pies. Sometimes I make Roasted Pumpkin Pie, but my favorite is the one on the canned pureed Libby's pumpkin (affiliate link).
WHAT YOU NEED
You will need measuring cups and spoons, an electric mixer, and a pie plate. You still have time to get yourself some good 10-inch and 12-inch pie pans (affiliate link) so you are ready for the holidays and try my Favorite Pecan Pie. You know you need a practice run on it (just because it's so GOOD)! I know you're gonna love this pie.
Don's Famous Favorite Pecan Pie Recipe
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup Karo syrup
- 1 cup chopped pecan
- 2 eggs
- 4 tablespoons butter
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- Cream butter and sugar.
- Add salt, well-beaten eggs, syrup and chopped nuts. Mix well.
- Bake in a raw pie crust for one hour (or until the pie is well set) at 300F degrees.
